In the early hours of Saturday May 28th, unknown gunmen raided the house of a man named Joseph Msen Akosu and killed him with his wife after which they were burnt beyond recognition.
This took place at Abinsi, Guma LGA of Benue State. The cause of this brutality isn't clear yet but speculations have it that it was as a result of land disputes between the Tivs.

Crocodile Snatches Woman During Night Swim
A woman who went night swimming off a beach in northeast Australia is missing after she was attacked by a crocodile.
The 46-year-old was with her friend in shallow water at Thornton Beach, Queensland, on Sunday night when she was pulled under.
Her friend attempted to rescue the woman from the reptile's jaws but was unable to do so.

62 years ago today the last man was executed in Ireland
On April 20 1954 Michael Manning, a 25-year-old man from Limerick, became the 29th and last person to be executed in Ireland.
By 1964 the death penalty was abolished for all cases apart from the murder of police, diplomates and prison officers. It was abolished by statute for the remaining offenses in 1990 and was expunged from the Constitution of Ireland by referendum in 2001.

The Prime Minister was speaking as he got a boost in his campaign to keep Britain in the 28-member bloc after leaders at the G7 summit warned Brexit would be a "serious risk" to world growth.
The joint declaration from the leaders of the US, UK, Japan, Germany, France, Italy and Canada included a passage saying: "UK exit from the EU would reverse the trend toward greater global trade, investment and the jobs they create and is a further serious risk to growth".
But the Leave campaign dismissed the argument it would threaten trade as "a load of old nonsense".
