Roy Hodgson has resigned after England were knocked out of Euro 2016


Roy Hodgson has resigned after England were knocked out of Euro 2016 - suffering a humiliating 2-1 defeat to minnows Iceland.
Wayne Rooney put England a goal ahead with a penalty after just four minutes but Ragnar Sigurdsson equalised for Iceland almost immediately.
Joe Hart was at fault when Kolbeinn Sigthorsson scored the second goal for Iceland - a nation of 330,000 people playing in their first European Championships.

Liverpool sign Senegalese forward Saido Mane from Southampton for £34m


Liverpool Football club have officially announced the signing of Senegalese winger Saido Mane for the sum of £34m after raiding Southampton of it's talents once again. The likes of Lovren, Nathaniel Clyne, Adam Lallana have left Southampton to join Liverpool in recent years and Saido Mane's capture has now been confirmed by the club.

Mane speaking to Liverpoolfc.com said: 
“Today is a big day and I am very happy to sign for one of the biggest clubs in Europe. “It’s a club that has won a lot of trophies and has a big history. Now I am looking forward to meeting all the staff and my teammates and starting the season.”

After losing his fourth final for his country - after the World Cup two years ago and the Copa America in 2007 and 2015 - an emotional Messi said: 'That's it. It's over for me with the national team. But Maradona has urged the Barcelona man to think carefully about his future.

Tottenham and England footballer Dele Alli, 20, was last night comforted by his stunning dark haired model girlfriend Ruby Mae, 21. The footballer looked dejected at the end of the match as they crashed out of Euro 2016 after losing 2-1 to Iceland. He then got comforted by his babe who gave him a hug from the stands after the match. The pair have been dating for some time now and she recently featured in a campaign for Dolce and Gabbana.

Wayne Rooney says he won't retire from England duty after Euro 2016 exit


England and Manchester captain Wayne Rooney has revealed he won't shut the door on his International career after Roy Hodgson quit as England manager last night following Iceland's shock win over England in the last 16 draw of Euro 2016.


The Manchester United forward did not have his best game as Roy Hodgson’s men were humiliated on Monday night, with some calling for him to be axed from the squad before the start of this tournament.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is expected to be signed by Manchester United
Manchester United are to sign Swedish international Zlatan Ibrahimovic before the start of Euro 2016, Sky sources understand.
United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and the striker's representatives are believed to be finalising terms on a one-year contract.
With Ibrahimovic on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, the deal is expected to be completed before Sweden's first Group E match against Belgium on 22 June.

Police in Mexico have mounted a large search operation to find national football player Alan Pulido, who was abducted in the crime-plagued northern state of Tamaulipas.
State prosecutor Ismael Quintanilla said Pulido, 25, was intercepted in the early hours of Sunday by an armed gang after leaving a party near his hometown of Ciudad Victoria.

Role For Giggs Looking Likely Under Mourinho

Jose Mourinho is prepared to find a place for Ryan Giggs on his Manchester United coaching staff - but not in the role of assistant manager, according to Sky sources.
Mourinho will take his trusted deputy Rui Faria to Old Trafford as assistant manager, meaning an effective demotion for Giggs if he agrees to stay at the club.
However, Mourinho holds Giggs' achievements at United in high regard, and is keen to find a role for him to extend his 29-year association with the club.

Footballer Ched Evans has pleaded not guilty to rape at Cardiff Crown Court.
His trial has been set for 4 October this year.
Evans is charged with one count of rape, alleged to have taken place in 2011.
At the brief hearing, Evans - who was wearing a black suit, white shirt and navy tie - spoke only to confirm his name and enter a not guilty plea.

23 London Olympic Athletes Test Positive

Hundreds of samples have been re-examined using the latest technology
Twenty-three athletes who competed at the 2012 London Olympics have tested positive for banned substances after their samples were reanalysed.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) revealed that the 23 competitors, spanning five sports, had tested positive after new analysis of 265 samples.

Pres. Buhari congratulates British/Nigerian boxer, Anthony Joshua

President Buhari has congratulated British/Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua for winning the IBF Heavyweight championship. The president in his congratulatory message asked Nigerians to support him as he defends his heavyweight title.

The statement from President Buhari came through his Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora and Foreign Relations, Honourable Abike Dabiri-Erewa. Joshua is ranked the world’s sixth best heavyweight boxer and will be defending his title by June 25th, 2016.
