An aide of Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state, Abiodun Agbele has been arrested by the EFCC over allegations of aiding and abetting Fayose to launder part of the N4.7 billion he received from the Office of the former National Security Officer, Sambo Dasuki in June 2014. EFCC is accusing Agbele of receiving N4.7 billion from former Minister of state for Defence, Musiliu Obankoro, and handing it over to Fayose. PepsiCo has announced it will put aspartame back in some of its diet beverages less than 12 months after it pulled the artificial sweetener over health concerns.

The sweetener has been linked to cancer in laboratory mice and industry executives blamed a decline in sales on concerns consumers have about aspartame.

Human Remains Found Inside 14ft Crocodile

Human remains - believed to be missing woman Cindy Waldron - have been found inside a 4.3m (14ft) crocodile captured in Queensland, Australia.

Ms Waldron, 46, was with her friend in shallow water at Thornton Beach late on Sunday night when she was pulled under after only a minute in the water.

Leeanne Mitchell tried in vain to pull Ms Waldron from the reptile's jaws as it dragged her under.

Police said the crocodile was caught and humanely put down in nearby Cooper Creek on Friday afternoon.

The remains were discovered after the dead animal was taken to Cairns for examination.

Two women have been arrested on suspicion on murder after the disappearance of a baby more than 11 years ago.

Detectives say human remains were found at a house in north London.

A 50-year-old woman was arrested after officers attended a home on Fryent Crescent in West Hendon on Monday, and a 31-year-old woman was detained in Luton, Bedfordshire.

On Tuesday, detectives re-arrested the two women, as well as a 52-year-old man, on suspicion of preventing a lawful and decent burial.

Private James died from a gunshot in 1995A coroner has found that Private Cheryl James died from a "self-inflicted" gunshot wound at Deepcut barracks in 1995.

The ruling that she was not unlawfully killed follows a second inquest into the death of the 18-year-old soldier, who was found shot dead while she was on guard duty.

She was one of four soldiers who died at Deepcut in Surrey between 1995 and 2002 amid claims of bullying and abuse.

In the early hours of Saturday May 28th, unknown gunmen raided the house of a man named Joseph Msen Akosu and killed him with his wife after which they were burnt beyond recognition.

This took place at Abinsi, Guma LGA of Benue State. The cause of this brutality isn't clear yet but speculations have it that it was as a result of land disputes between the Tivs.

The 46-year-old was with her friend in shallow water at Thornton Beach, Queensland, on Sunday night when she was pulled under.

On April 20 1954 Michael Manning, a 25-year-old man from Limerick, became the 29th and last person to be executed in Ireland.

By 1964 the death penalty was abolished for all cases apart from the murder of police, diplomates and prison officers. It was abolished by statute for the remaining offenses in 1990 and was expunged from the Constitution of Ireland by referendum in 2001.
