Car crash
The scene of the crash. Pic: Le JSLTributes have been paid to a British father who died along with two of his children in a car crash on a French motorway.
John Crompton, 31, was driving the family's Nissan from Dijon towards Bourg-en-Bresse when it reportedly veered to the right before going through a barrier and into the wall of a bridge over the road.
Mr Crompton's partner and youngest child were airlifted to Lyon after the accident on the A39 near Beaurepaire-en-Bresse.

They were taken to the Edouard Herriot hospital where a spokesman said they were in "a critical condition".
The accident happened on Sunday at around 7.30am and the motorway was closed in both directions until 11am.
A member of the emergency services told French TV that two of the children were dead when they arrived at the scene.
The father was trapped inside the wreckage and died of a heart attack minutes after being released.
The cause of the accident was not immediately clear, although an investigator said the father may have fallen asleep at the wheel or been distracted.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash and the weather and road conditions were apparently good.
Colin Harrison posted a tribute on a Facebook group called Hartlepool Billiards and Snooker, of which Mr Crompton is a member.
He said: "Heartbreaking news about one of the leagues top players. John Crompton and two of his children were tragically killed in a road accident in France.
"Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. very talented and well liked man. RIP mate."
A Foreign Office spokesman said: "We are providing assistance following a road traffic accident in France, in which three British nationals have sadly died and two others have been hospitalised.
"We are working closely with local authorities and supporting the families at this difficult time."
